My name is Rich Jacobson, and I am running for President-Elect of KCAR for 2022.

For over 2 decades, I’ve been a REALTOR® and licensed broker. Most of that time has been here on the Kitsap Peninsula where my family and I have been residents since 2001. My first visit to the West Sound came courtesy of Uncle Sam, when my boat, the USS Geo.Washington (SSBN598), pulled into Bangor Sub Base to onload missiles.

For the first ten years of my real estate career, I was simply content with focusing on building my business, but all the while benefitting from my membership in the local, State, and National REALTOR® associations.  It wasn’t until one of our past Presidents encouraged me to volunteer for a committee, that I began to actively participate in our local REALTOR® association.  From there, my involvement expanded into the role as a State Director, and then Secretary of our Board of Directors. I also had the good fortune of serving on the WR Executive Board in the role of Northwest Regional Representative.

In 2019, I had the distinct pleasure of chairing the search committee that resulted in the hiring of Tiffany Claxton as our Association Executive.

Today, we stand at a crucial crossroads in the history of our association. While Tiffany’s skills and leadership have been an incredible, positive step forward, along with the hiring of James Clough, as our Government Affairs Director, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done in order to ensure the future health and vitality of our organization.

Our association leadership needs to create and demonstrate greater value that provides benefits for each and every dues paying member. We need to empower our members to better understand the value proposition of being a REALTOR®, and how to intelligently articulate and demonstrate that value to their clients.

If I am entrusted with your vote, I pledge to work hard on your behalf to help lead us into a bigger and brighter future as the Kitsap County Associaton of REALTORS®.
